Meet the Town Criers Coming to Perth and the local businesses they’ll be promoting!
In just a few days, we’ll be welcoming 18 town criers from across the province to Perth for the 2016 Ontario Town Crier Championships!
*cue ringing of the bell*
From May 21-22, these criers will perform three separate cries. Each crier has been teamed up with a local business which they’ll promote in the second cry round (this specific cry takes place at 2 p.m. at the Band Stand behind Town Hall – the other two cries happen at Crystal Palace on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.).
The criers have to submit their cries ahead of time for judging purposes. We got a sneak peek at them, and all we can say is this: blazin’ bloomers, they’re hilarious!
We’d like to introduce you to the criers, so you can see where they’re coming from, learn about their background and find out who they’ll be promoting at the promotional cry.
We’d love to see you out on Saturday and Sunday for this Signature Event for the Perth 200th Anniversary. It’s going to be unforgettable! Get the Town Crier Championship schedule and event details.
